FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A Fall River native killed in action overseas will be laid to rest on Friday.
SFC Eric Emond was one of three American soldiers who died in November after an explosive device detonated during combat operations in the Ghazni Province.
Emond, 39, will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
He leaves behind a wife and three daughters.
Emond attended Fall River schools up until the tenth grade, when he moved to Arkansas. He was a member of Durfee High School’s wrestling team.
Emond was also one of the founders of the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Mission, which honors those who have died while in service of our country since 9/11.
