FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — For the second time in about a month and the third time this summer, Fall River police said they arrested an Osborn Street woman for charges of drug possession.
Vice detectives pulled over the 2004 Hyundai Sonata of Victoria Travassos on Friday, Sept. 7, according to Det. John Robinson. They had a search warrant for Travassos and her car, and in the seat where she’d been sitting detectives found numerous blue plastic bags containing what was suspected to be heroin, a digital scale, and an assorted amount of cash. Hidden at her waist was another plastic bag filled with more bags of what they believed was heroin; some 250 packets of the alleged drug were confiscated in all, Robinson said.
Travassos, 35, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a class A substance.
Back in August, police had pulled Travassos and two others over in a car and at that point charged Travassos with possession of a class A substance with intent to distribute as well as three counts of possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute. This had followed another arrest of Travassos back in June.
