Facebook outage was trending on Twitter

(WPRI) — If you weren’t able to access Facebook Monday afternoon, you weren’t alone.

According to downdetector.com the social media site was down for nearly an hour, with the East Coast appearing to be hit the hardest according to the site’s outage map.

The site said the first problems were detected at 12:52 p.m.

Facebook has not yet said what caused the outage.

The hashtag #FacebookDown began trending quickly on Twitter, as users reported the issue.
