Cranston, R.I. (WPRI) – Cranston police have arrested a woman for DUI after she hits a pedestrian in the parking lot of Club Mardi Gras.

Cranston Police say that around 1 a.m. this morning 49-year-old Lorna Grassel was attempting to exit the parking lot at Club Mardi Gras when she struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian hit his head on the hood of the car and was then thrown between two parked cars.

The driver then drove into a retaining wall and flipped the car onto its side. Police say the driver showed obvious signs of being intoxicated.

Grassel failed a field sobriety test, she was arraigned at the Cranston Police station and released on personal recognizance.

The pedestrian who was hit was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. He has since been released.
