WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Warwick police are reminding people to not let their pets outside unattended after a coyote attacked a dog Wednesday night.
Police said on the department’s Facebook page that the attack happened in a neighborhood near the Valley Country Club.
Police did not release the condition of the dog.
Numi Mitchell, lead scientist of the Narragansett Coyote Study, told Eyewitness News in November that owners of small pets should take extra precautions because animals under 30 pounds are prey for coyotes.
