PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The Department of Environmental Management is warning animal shelters across the state to be on the lookout for someone who may try to adopt a pet.

According to DEM, Anthony Stravato should not be allowed to take a dog, cat or any other animal home under any circumstances.

DEM says Stravato has a history of felony animal abuse and was just released from the ACI last week. He is currently under court order to not own or have contact with any animals.

For that reason, DEM said shelters should also not let Stravato’s girlfriend, Alyssa Lamountain, adopt animals.

Anyone with questions should contact Lt. Cabral with DEM at (401) 222-3070.
