Police: Suspect who crashed into several police cruisers still on the loose

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A suspect accused of hitting a number of unmarked police cars, other vehicles and a building is still on the loose, a spokesperson for the Rhode Island State Police said.

Police said they attempted to arrest 27-year-old Vincent D’Ambra on a warrant around 10 a.m. on Post Road in Warwick when he allegedly resisted arrest and drove off in his gold Pontiac Grand Prix.

Police said after he hit several unmarked police cars, D’Ambra drove to West Warwick where he hit another car and a building at Providence and Wakefield streets.

D’Ambra jumped out of his car and ran off, according to police, and has not been captured.

Police said D’Ambra was wearing a white sleeveless t-shirt and teal shorts when he was last seen.

State Police spokesperson Laura Meade Kirk declined to comment on why D’Ambra was wanted by police before the chase.

If you have information about the incident or the suspect, you are urged to call the Rhode Island State Police Detective Bureau at (401) 444-1158.
