PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – Pawtucket Police confirm a ‘shots fired’ incident happened in the city Sunday afternoon.
Police say the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. in the area of 223 East Street.
After the call came in, officers responded to the scene, where they found five shell casings.
No victims or suspects have been identified at this time, according to police.
Eyewitness News caught up with one man in the area on Sunday. Ray Dulieu, who used to live near East Street, said crime has heightened in his former neighborhood.
“It’s been getting really bad,” he said. “I’m glad I got out now. It’s too bad for the generations growing up. They don’t have anything here.”
