EASTON, Mass. (WPRI) — Firefighters battled a fire at an auto body shop on Hayward Street in Easton Thursday night. It broke out just after 7 p.m. and quickly went to three alarms.

According to the fire chief, two of the three auto body shop buildings were heavily damaged.

Nine different fire departments responded to help fight the flames. They also assisted in containing the fire so that a house next to the auto body shop would not affected.

Firefighters had a hard time battling the fire because of frigid temperatures.

“Fortunately, we didn’t have any hydrant issues. A lot of the hydrants were shoveled out in the area neighborhoods, so thank you to the residents who helped us do that,” Deputy Chief Kevin Partridge said.

There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
