CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Cranston police want the public’s help in identifying one of two men involved in a fraud case.

Investigators said that the pair were allegedly “fraudulently soliciting donations” for the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Awareness Charity at last weekend’s St. Mary’s Fest.

Police did not disclose how many donations the two men received.

One of the men was identified as Alan Ponte and charged with obtaining money under false pretenses, according to police, but the second man has not yet been identified.

Police published a picture of the suspect, who was at the time wearing a gray baseball hat, jeans, and a long-sleeve pink shirt.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity should call Acting Captain Russell Henry at 401-460-5444.
