CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Cranston police are searching for a suspect who robbed an Elmwood Avenue store at gunpoint early Monday morning.

According to police, the light-skinned male entered Ocean State Mobil around 3:15 a.m., pulled out a black, revolver-type handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

Surveillance images provided by police show the suspect had his face covered and was wearing a black, hooded jacket, blue jeans and gloves.

After he obtained an unspecified amount of cash, police said the suspect ran diagonally across the parking lot towards Park Avenue.

The robbery remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Robert Santagata at (401) 477-5064.
