Coventry knocked out of LL World Series in 9-5 loss to Iowa

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WPRI) — Coventry Little League has been knocked out the LLWS tournament.

The kids put up a fight against Des Moines, Iowa in an elimination game Saturday, but after six innings the team lost 9-5.

They’ll still play in a consolation game on Monday.

Eyewitness News reporter Steve Nielsen spoke with the team’s head coach following Saturday’s outcome, asking him what the kids would remember most from their experience in Williamsport.

“They’ll remember each other.  They’ve spent so much time together in the dorms doing things together.  I think they will remember the field, playing the game, but I think the biggest thing they will remember is each other,” coach Lou Simon said.
