PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence police are investigating another case of vandalism at the home of convicted child rapist Richard Gardner.

A window was broken by a baseball Friday evening when Gardner wasn’t home, according to Providence Police Major David Lapatin.

It is the second case of vandalism in a month at Gardner’s New York Avenue home.  On February 16, someone threw a piece of concrete through his window.

Gardner, 52, who was convicted of sexually assaulting children in Warwick and Massachusetts in the late 1980s, was released from prison in October.

His arrival in the Washington Park neighborhood has sparked numerous protests from neighboring residents.

Lapatin said police will be adding increased patrols in the area following this latest incident.
