Construction to begin on Newport Cliff Walk

NEWPORT, R.I (WPRI) — Construction is officially underway to repair damage from Hurricane Sandy on a popular Rhode Island landmark.

The Cliff Walk in Newport will remain open during construction to repair damage and make necessary safety improvements.

There will be a detour to local streets between Narragansett Avenue and Webster Street.

The 40 steps, restrooms, and metered parking on Narragansett Avenue will all remain open.
