Central Falls, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation by the Central Falls police has led to the second arrest in an armed robbery that occurred last week.
On July 28, police were able arrest a juvenile in connection to the armed robbery on Fletcher Street. Police say the victims were able to follow the suspects until police arrived.
According to a news release, Ricardo Matos, 37, has been positively identified by the victims through a photo line-up as the second subject in the incident.
Police say that Matos had originally fled the area prior to police arrival.
On Wednesday, a court ordered arrest warrant and search warrant were executed and officials say Matos was taken into custody without incident.
A black replica Airsoft hand gun was seized for Matos’s bedroom, according to police.
A news release also stated Matos was held overnight and arraigned on Thursday morning. He has been charged with 3 counts of robbery in the first degree, 3 counts of conspiracy, and possession of weapons other than a firearm.
Matos was ordered held without bail as a Superior Court violator, he will be assigned a future court date.
