(WPRI) — CBS News announced a new anchor lineup for flagship broadcasts Monday morning.

CBS News President and Senior Executive Producer Susan Zirinsky announced that Norah O’Donnell will be the new anchor and managing editor of the “CBS Evening News” and that Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil will co-host “CBS This Morning.”

The new anchor team for “CBS This Morning” will launch May 20. “CBS Evening News” with Norah O’Donnell will debut this summer.

O’Donnell will replace Jeff Glor as anchor of the “CBS Evening News.” Glor has anchored the newscast since December 2017 and is still negotiating his next steps.

“This is a start of a new era for CBS News,” said Zirinsky. “Our job is to reveal America to itself through original reporting, strong investigative journalism and powerful political coverage.”

O’Donnell will also continue work as a contributing correspondent for “60 Minutes.”

King has co-hosted “CBS This Morning” since 2012. Mason recently anchored “CBS This Morning: Saturday” and Dokoupil has done work with “CBS Sunday Morning.”
