PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A family-run Pawtucket restaurant is picking up the pieces after a car smashed through the front of the business Wednesday afternoon.
Carla Soares said her parents have owned Restaurant Di Nos Bar and Grill for approximately 18 years.
According to Soares, employees were inside the building when the car crashed through the front door and all the way into the restaurant. She said no one inside the restaurant was injured in the crash.
Eyewitness News was there as crews backed the car out of the building and towed it away. In order to repair the damage, Soares said the restaurant will be closed for at least three weeks.
Soares said her family is grateful for all of the support they’ve received so far from the community.
“Our customers are basically our family, we are very welcoming,” Soares said. “Our business is called ‘Di-Nos,’ which means ‘Ours.’ We appreciate the support and the help, everything like that.”
It’s unclear at this time what caused the car to crash into the restaurant, or if the driver was injured.
