BROCKTON, Mass. (WPRI) — One driver was injured after a car crashed into a bank early Friday morning.

Captain Richard Costa of Brockton police says the driver appeared to have been driving down Oak Street when he missed a turn and crashed into the building.

After crashing, the car landed upside down in Webster Bank.

Police say the crash left the car and bank with quite a bit of damage.

“We’ve had cars hit buildings a lot lately with distracted driving and usually it’s a minor thing, but this was a substantial amount of damage,” said Costa.

According to police, the driver had to be extricated from the car and was taken to a a nearby hospital. The driver was later airlifted to a Boston hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
