WARREN, R.I. (WPRI) — Officials are investigating what caused a camper to catch fire outside a Warren business overnight.

Crews responded to Cutler Street early Thursday to find the flames had spread to the building and other vehicles in the lot.

There were no injuries.

Warren Fire Chief Alexander Galinelli said he’s notified police and the fire marshal’s office because there’s been several other fires at the same time of night over the past few weeks. He said the fires have been getting progressively worse and he’s worried that someone is lighting fires for fun.

“You start a little fire today, see the excitement, you start a bigger fire, a lot more action, then you get what we had this morning and it really swells,” he said.

If you see anything suspicious, Galinelli asks that you come forward and let the authorities know.

Just a short time later, crews in Pawtucket put out a car fire that spread to an apartment building on Freight Street. There’s no indication the two incidents are connected in any way.
