REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPRI) — A California man was arrested and charged with driving drunk following a crash in Rehoboth.
Police received a report Wednesday night of a car striking a utility pole in the area of 299 Providence Street, leaving the vehicle and downed power lines in the roadway.
Responding officers determined the driver, identified as Timothy Beel, was operating under the influence of alcohol.
Beel, 23, of Pleasant Hill, was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, according to police.
Beel was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, wanton destruction of property, and a marked lanes violation.
Police said the utility pole was significantly damaged in the crash and the downed wires resulted in power outages in the area.
