PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Republican Party Chair is considering throwing his hat in the ring for lieutenant governor.

According to the Providence Journal, Brandon Bell said he is considering how a run would affect his family and law practice.

Bell added that if he were to run, he would step down from his position as chairman.

Paul Pence, who has already announced his candidacy for the GOP nomination for lieutenant governor, said he would welcome Bell to the race.
