Blustery and colder for start of the week

News

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The worst of the rain and wind has ended, but the Pinpoint Weather Team says low temperatures overnight could cause some icy conditions early Monday morning.

Today, Providence also broke the record high temperature for the date (57° also set in 2000 and 1972). As of 5 p.m., the high temperature for Providence was 58°.

Steady rain and heavy wind were reported in our area throughout the afternoon. Looking back, there were wind gusts close to 60 miles per hour and rainfall amounts exceeding two inches in many communities.

There is a Wind Advisory for most of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts into Sunday evening.  Southeast wind gusts are possible into the early evening, leading to possible wind damage and isolated power outages.
