Attleboro PD turns to Twitter to clear warrants

News

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) – The Attleboro Police Department is turning to Twitter to clear some outstanding warrants.

The department tweeted out the names of more than 200 wanted people this week.

Chief Kyle Heagney told Eyewitness News that the move doesn’t replace old-fashioned police tactics, but it may help.

The chief also said he is not encouraging people to play vigilante, but admits that even the most seasoned veterans have come around to the idea that technology can bridge the gap between police and the public.
