PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union says it has settled a federal lawsuit against the RI Department of Corrections on behalf of an inmate.

The lawsuit was filed in 2009, claiming corrections officers at the ACI harassed Jason Cook after he complained about the prison’s mail policies.

According to the ACLU, the department has agreed to pay $7,500 while continuing to deny liability.
