50th Special Olympics RI continue this weekend

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — The 50th Anniversary of the Special Olympics is underway at URI, with games continuing this weekend.

More than 1,500 athletes will compete in several competitions today and tomorrow, with thousands more coaches, volunteers, family members and spectators expected to be in attendance.

Eyewitness News anchor Patrick Little, reporters Caroline Goggin, Alexandra Leslie, Shiina LoSciuto and meteorologist T.J. Del Santo were on hand for today’s events.
