CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Police arrested four people for allegedly breaking into and vandalizing Cranston High School West early Friday morning.
Officers were alerted to the break-in when the burglar alarm went off a little before 5 a.m., according to Cranston Police Major Todd Patalano.
Patalano said they found damage in the auditorium, including tipped-over seats, banners and flags torn off the walls, and trash all over the floor, as well as damage in one of the bathrooms.
Those arrested were Robert Ruggiano, 18, of Cranston, Brianna Belisle, 18, of Cranston, Eli Sanders, 19, of Providence, and a juvenile female.
All four were charged with breaking and entering a public building, vandalism, and conspiracy. The three adults were arraigned in court Friday and released on personal recognizance with orders not to visit Cranston West.
None of the suspects are current students at the school, according to prosecutors, though Ruggiano was previously enrolled there.
The prosecutors also noted that none of the suspects have criminal records.
They’re due back in court in May.
Cranston Public Schools’ chief operating officer told Eyewitness News it’s too early to put a dollar amount on the damage.
