PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police say a 12-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Wednesday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.
The incident happened just after 6:30 p.m. on Bridgham Street, in the area of Lester Street.
Investigators say the child was riding his bike when he was struck by a vehicle described as a silver or gold Nissan Altima.
The victim was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, complaining of hip and lower back pain.
The mother of victim witnessed the accident.
There is no other information about the driver of the Altima.
