1 killed, 1 hurt in Route 10 crash in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island State Police now confirm one of the two people injured Monday morning in a crash on Route 10 has died.

Police said the car crossed two lanes of traffic, went off the road and struck a tree. It happened around 6:55 a.m. at the exit to I-95.

Police said two people were taken to Rhode Island Hospital, and later confirmed one of those people – now identified as Marcel Odom, 24 of Providence – died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The other person was treated for injuries and released.

According to Pinpoint Traffic Reporter Melissa Sardelli, the crash caused heavy delays for morning commuters.

The scene was cleared around 8:45 a.m.
