Louis Coleman pleads not guilty in deadly Boston kidnapping

BOSTON, Mass. (WPRI) — The Providence man charged in connection to the kidnapping and death of 23-year-old Jassy Correia entered a not guilty plea in court Tuesday.

A federal grand jury in Boston previously handed up an indictment charging Louis Coleman III, 32, with kidnapping, resulting in death.

Correia went missing on the morning of Feb. 24 and her body was found in the trunk of Coleman’s car when he was pulled over and arrested several days later in Delaware.

If Coleman is convicted, he faces the possibility of the death sentence or life in prison.

A status conference is scheduled for June 14 but Coleman does not have to appear.
