Pawtucket man charged in deadly Boston shooting

BOSTON, Mass. (WPRI) — A Pawtucket man suspected of shooting and killing another man in broad daylight was arrested Tuesday morning.

Police allege Phillip Foy, 34, shot the victim in the area of Huntington Avenue in Boston around 11 a.m.

Officers who responded to the scene found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Eyewitnesses saw Foy hop into a taxi while fleeing the scene, according to police, and a detail officer who was working nearby stopped the taxi on Ring Road and Foy was taken into custody.

Foy faces charges of murder, armed carjacking and unlawful possession of a firearm.
