CANTON, Mass (WPRI) — Massachusetts State Police made a heroin bust after pulling over a car with temporary Rhode Island license plates

Just after midnight Thursday, troopers on I-93 in Canton pulled over a black Lexus sedan for speeding.

Troopers learned the license plates on the vehicle were fraudulent, according to Mass. State Police.

Upon searching the car, troopers said they found a large black plastic bag containing approximately $35,000 in cash bundled together, along with 1 kilogram of heroin in a brick form.

The driver, 36-year old Bolivar Torres of Jamaica Plain, was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin, speeding, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
