BOSTON (WPRI) — The head of the Massachusetts State Police Department is stepping down.
Governor Maura Healey said Col. Christopher Mason will retire next Friday.
Mason has been with the department for 30 years, and has been head of the state police for more than three years.
The Healey administration said it will announce plans to find a new superintendent soon.
