Holiday shipping deadlines: Mail those packages out soon!

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) — There are still a few weeks left until the holidays, but mail shipping deadlines are approaching even sooner.

USPS – United States

According to the United States Postal Service, in order for your gifts to arrive at your friends and family by Christmas Eve, you’ll need to have it in the mail by:

  • 12/14 using retail ground
  • 12/20 using first class mail
  • 12/20 using priority mail
  • 12/22 using priority mail express

Holiday shipping deadlines are different for Alaska and Hawaii. If you have loved ones in those parts of the country, you must have packages in the mail by:

  • 12/20 shipping to Hawaii using first class mail and priority mail
  • 12/22 shipping to Hawaii using priority mail express service
  • 12/20 shipping to Alaska using first class mail and priority mail
  • 12/22 shipping to Alaska using priority mail express

UPS – United States

  • 12/20 using UPS 2nd Day Air
  • 12/21 using UPS Next Day Air

FedEx – United States

  • 12/25 using FedEx SameDay
  • 12/21 using FedEx Overnight
  • 12/20 using FedEx 2Day
  • 12/19 using FedEx Express Saver®3
  • 12/17 using FedEx Ground and Home Delivery

USPS – International

For your loved ones who live overseas, you must have packages in the mail by:

Canada

  • 12/15 using priority mail express international
  • 12/19 using global express guaranteed 

Mexico 

  • 12/15 using priority mail express international 
  • 12/19 using global express guaranteed service

Puerto Rico and the Caribbean

  • 12/15 using priority mail express international service
  • 12/20 using global express guaranteed service

Europe

  • 12/15 using priority mail express international 
  • 12/20 using global express guaranteed service

Asia

  • 12/15 using priority mail express international service
  • 12/19 using global express guaranteed service

Africa

  • 12/19 using global express guaranteed service

Central and South America

  • 12/18 using global express guaranteed service

Middle East

  • 12/15 using priority mail express international service
  • 12/20 using global express guaranteed service

For your loved ones serving in the military, it’s recommended by USPS that you send your packages by 12/18 for the following areas:

  • APO/FPO/DPO AE ZIP 090-092
  • APO/FPO/DPO AE ZIP 094-098
  • APO/FPO/DPO AE ZIP 340
  • APO/FPO/DPO AE ZIP 962-966

Mail will be delivered as usual Christmas Eve. On Christmas, USPS will only be delivering priority mail express orders.
