WPRI’s Walter Cryan inducted into RI Radio and TV Hall of Fame


WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Former channel 12 anchor Walter Cryan was among the group of prestigious journalists who were inducted into the RI Radio and TV Hall of Fame Thursday night.

Cryan worked for WPRI-TV for more than 30 years and is now a member of the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2019.

After graduating from Boston University, Cryan joined WPRO-AM radio in 1965. He moved over to the television side shortly after.

WPRO-FM morning show host Kim Zandy, WPRO-AM news anchor Bill Haberman, WWBB-FM’s Tracey Lynne, WJAR-TV’s Patrice Wood and Art Lake and WLNE-TV’s Alana Cerrone were also inducted into this year’s Hall of Fame class.
