RI State Troopers to run Boston Marathon for charity

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A team of Rhode Island State Police troopers will be running in the Boston Marathon again this year to raise money for Cops for Kids with Cancer.

So far, the team of six troopers has raised around $12,000 and hope to raise even more to reach their goal of $15,000.

This year’s team includes two veteran marathoners: Trooper Robert Bentsen and Trooper Scott Potter.

Four other troopers are running with them this year for the first time.

This will be the 17th year that State Police troopers have participated in the Boston Marathon and the 7th year a team will be raising money for Cops for Kids with Cancer.
