The Great Chowder Cook-Off – Local Events & Coverage
Again this year, WPRI 12 & FOX Providence is a proud media partner of this Rhode Island Waterfront Event.
It’s not just about the chowdah! Of course your ticket includes all-you-can-eat chowder samples – more than 100,000 samples will be served up from competitors from RI to Ireland! You also get ongoing live entertainment with three bands and a DJ, fun kids’ activities, sponsor sampling and swag, access to the Oyster Festival and a chance to participate in interactive contests including the Oyster Slurp and Beer Shucking.
Taste the chowders and cast your vote in 5 categories: Best Clam, Seafood, Red Chowders plus Most Team Spirit & Coolest Chowder Booth. Voting ends at 4:30pm and Award Ceremony starts at 5:30pm on the Main Stage hosted by WPRI’s Tony Petrarca and Shannon Hegy.
