PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Burger lovers will have another place to visit in Rhode Island.

Shake Shack next week is opening its first location in the state at 249 Thayer Street in Providence’s College Hill neighborhood.

The chain describes itself as a “modern day ‘roadside’ burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs (no hormones or antibiotics – ever), fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more.”

In addition, Shake Shack will be serving local brews from Narragansett Beer, Foolproof Brewing Company and Whalers Brewing Company.

The restaurant says the new location is eco-friendly, with tabletops using reclaimed bowling alley lanes; chairs made of sustainable materials; and booths constructed with lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

The new location is set to open Wednesday, March 20 at 11 a.m.
