CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Fans of Brutopia Brewery and Kitchen have just a few more days to get their fix.
The Atwood Avenue restaurant and bar announced on Facebook it would be closing its doors for good December 31.
"We thank you all for your patronage and support," the restaurant said. "Revival Brewing Co. will continue to reside onsite and will remain open to the public. They will continue to brew beer and their Tasting Room will remain open."
Eyewitness News contacted the owner, Umberto Sorbo, who said he's currently in Miami and it's proven too difficult to operate a restaurant from afar.
He said Revival had hoped to purchase the restaurant, but when it was unable to secure financing he decided to shut it down.
He said Brutopia's 15 to 20 employees will be laid off as of Jan. 1, 2019.
