Melissa Sardelli

Melissa Sardelli is an Emmy award winning traffic anchor and reporter for 12 News this Morning.

She returned to 12 News in April 2016 as the station’s Pinpoint Traffic anchor. She can be seen weekdays tracking the morning commute across Southern New England roadways on 12 News airing 4:30 a.m. – 7 a.m. on WPRI 12 and 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. on FOX Providence.

She is excited to be waking up Southern New England alongside 12 News anchors Patrick Little and Danielle North and Meteorologist Michelle Muscatello.

In addition, Melissa frequently brings positivity to the morning newscasts serving as a reporter highlighting ‘Good News’ stories impacting our area and previously hosting 12 Gives Back, an event honoring businesses in the community making a difference.

She is very active in the community dedicating her time to emceeing events like the annual ‘Summer’s End Concert’ in East Greenwich, the Crossroads ‘Keys for All’ fundraiser and the House of Hope fundraiser.

Melissa is passionate about helping animals and has been dedicated to the cause, volunteering her time and helping to organize fundraisers at local shelters.

The Rhode Island native started her career at WPRI 12 back in 2004. Melissa was most recently a digital reporter for the station enterprising a nightly webcast for the AP Award-winning website WPRI.com.

She previously worked on The Rhode Show as a reporter shooting, editing, and writing her own on-air segments and as the technology reporter.

In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her husband, daughter and identical twin boys.

Melissa graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in journalism.
