Kate Wilkinson has been a Target 12 investigative reporter since June 2023, but started at WPRI 12 as an intern in 2016.
She was hired as the weekend morning producer in 2017 and worked on stories like the Brayton Point tower implosions, as well as Gov. Gina Raimondo’s pandemic press briefings.
During lockdown, she started digital reporting on the weekends before transferring to our sister station, WWLP-22News in Springfield, Mass. While there, she became an I-Team reporter, covering Maura Healey’s run for governor and President Joe Biden’s visits to Massachusetts.
Kate has had an appreciation for politics from a young age, watching presidential candidates visit her hometown of Exeter, NH.
She graduated from Wheaton College in 2017 with a degree in sociology.
She has a very loud cat named Simon and loves French fries.
