Jake Holter joined the 12 News team in May 2023 as the weekday morning reporter.
Jake comes to the Ocean State from Florida, where he spent two years reporting in the Panhandle at WMBB-TV. During his two-year tenure, Jake reported on everything from record-breaking wildfires, tropical storms, and local corruption. He won three Florida Association of Broadcasters awards for his work at News 13.
Jake graduated summa cum laude from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University after completing his bachelor’s degree in just three years.
While at ASU, Jake worked as a political correspondent in Washington, D.C., for Arizona PBS. He was honored to be one of 25 students nationwide selected for the White House Correspondents’ Association scholarship.
While Jake comes from the heat of Florida and Arizona, he is no stranger to the cold. He grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and is excited to experience the seasons again.
In his free time, Jake enjoys exploring New England by going to the beach, trying new restaurants, and visiting museums. Feel free to share your favorite local spots!
