Amanda Pitts

Amanda Pitts joined the 12 News team in September 2021. A native Southern New Englander, Amanda was born in Taunton, Massachusetts, but grew up on the East Bay of Rhode Island.

Before starting at WPRI, Amanda reported for the ABC affiliate in Rhode Island for more than three years. While there, she covered a variety of breaking news stories and high-profile trials like those of Jasiel Correia and Nathan Carman. She also conducted a number of emotional interviews with families impacted by violence.

Amanda began her on-air career at WICZ-TV in Binghamton, New York. She is a graduate of East Providence High School, and went on to earn a degree in communications and graduate with honors from Bridgewater State University.

When not reporting, Amanda can be found hanging out with her cat Opie and singing in a cappella groups through Sweet Adelines International and the Barbershop Harmony Society.
