Mob associate gets 7 years in RI case

Richard Bonafiglia admitted role in extortion case

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A mob associate of Luigi "Baby Shacks" Manocchio, who admitted to his role in a extortion case, was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Richard Bonafiglia, 58, learned his fate in District Court in Providence.

Richard Bonafiglia pleaded guilty in February to being part of a scheme to shake down Providence strip clubs for protection money.

Reputed former head of the Patriarca crime family, Manocchio, was sentenced to five and half years behind bars for his role in the case.
