(WPRI) - This week's Cardi's Hometown Sports Hero is Lisbeth Kenyon. The Barrington resident is off to her home country of Norway to compete in the Norseman Extreme, a triathlon considered to be the most challenging of all races.
The 10-year old race consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112-mile bike race followed by a full marathon, with altitudes reaching 6,000ft. Kenyon is well prepared for the challenge having finished first among amateurs in her age division (45-49) three consecutive years at Hawaii’s Ironman. Her last year was good for 23rd overall among females.
