New Bedford, Mass. (WPRI) -- New Bedford police have arrested a local man suspected in a string of armed robberies in the city's south end over the last few weeks.
Matthew Patee, 27, was taken into custody Friday morning.
Detectives found him hiding behind a bureau inside an apartment on Swift Street.
Police say physical evidence has been recovered linking Patee to five armed robberies.
