TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) - A Tiverton man was arrested over the weekend, after police say his BMW was traveling more than 80 miles per hour over the speed limit.
Raul Barbosa, 27, is accused of driving 135 miles per hour down Route 24 North in Tiverton late Friday night.
The speed limit on the roadway is 55 mph.
Police tell us that is one of the highest speeds they've ever recorded.
Barbosa was charged with reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.
