CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - He's an All-Pro wide receiver. He's caught a 99-yard pass. He just got married to a model. And now, Wes Welker is revealing: he's had hair transplant surgery.
Welker got the procedure done earlier this month, according to a news release Monday from Leonard Hair Transplant Associates of Cranston -- because some of his hair had started to thin a little bit. Welker will soon start appearing in ads for Leonard on television, radio and in print.
The news release said Welker's hair could grow and get thicker in as little as four months.
When not wearing a helmet for the Patriots, Welker's sometimes been spotted in the past wearing a baseball cap -- courtside at a Boston Celtics game, for example.
Welker turned 31-years-old in May, a month before his marriage to model Anna Burns.
He also gained notoriety in March for an ad deal with Depend undergarments.
