EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - This week on Newsmakers: Attorney General Peter Kilmartin. Since replacing Patrick Lynch two years ago, the office of the R.I. Attorney General has mostly avoided big headlines and big controversies. But behind the scenes Kilmartin has been keeping busy, including filing one of the most robust legislative packages out of the Attorney General's office in years.
Kilmartin wants his former colleagues in the General Assembly to approve bills that include an expansion of Rhode Island's gun laws and protections for mortgage holders.
His office is also overseeing investigations of major scandals including 38 Studios and Dan Doyle's Institute for International Sport.
