PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- The University of Rhode Island has launched a new center designed to help businesses connect with the school's resources.
The Business Engagement Center was launched on Thursday at GTech's headquarters in downtown Providence.
URI President David M. Dooley says the center will help faculty and students connect with businesses and calls it a "front door" for businesses to navigate what the university has to offer.
Those resources include research opportunities, consulting, technology or intellectual property transfer assistance, licensing information, access to its buildings and equipment and students for internships or jobs, and workforce training.
