NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) - Two Narragansett women were arrested Thursday on multiple drug charges, including intent to distribute and cultivate marijuana, after police found a grow operation.
Narragansett Police and members of the DEA executed a search warrant at 5 Ocean Look Drive at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. They seized 44 "mature" marijuana plants, over 2.5 pounds of drying marijuana leaves, and other items "commonly used to grow marijuana in quantity," Det. Lt. Sean Corrigan of the department said in a news release. Photos released by the department Friday show the plants and grow operation room.
The two residents, Shirlene Walker and Sheniece Eastman, were arrested, arraigned and held without bail.
Walker is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, controlled substances conspiracy, money laundering and cultivating. Eastman was charged with possession with intent to deliver, cultivating, and controlled substance conspiracy.
The two are due back before a judge for bail review on Oct. 27.
